The plan establishes a goal to reduce fatalities and serious injury crashes by 50% by 2035 and 100% by 2050. Key strategic areas include promoting safer traffic for all users by reducing various types of crashes, fostering a culture of safety through enforcement and educational campaigns, and reducing risk exposure via active transportation and transit options. The plan integrates with existing local and regional transportation and development policies, and its progress will be monitored by a Transportation Safety Steering Committee.

This document outlines the City of Bastrop's Water Conservation Plan, adopted in accordance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Texas Water Development Board regulations. Its primary objectives include reducing water consumption, minimizing loss and waste, improving water use efficiency, encouraging efficient outdoor water use, documenting water recycling and reuse, and extending the lifespan of water supplies. The plan establishes specific 5-year and 10-year targets for reducing total and residential gallons per capita per day (GPCD) and water loss, supported by strategies such as comprehensive records management, accurate metering, leak detection and repair, public education, plumbing code implementation, landscape water management, and non-promotional water rate structures.

The Council conducted a work session to review the proposed fiscal year 2018 budget. Discussions centered on aligning the budget with the city's comprehensive plan, mission statement, and strategic priorities. Key topics included diversifying revenue sources beyond sales tax through economic development and annexation, raising building fees to reflect current code requirements, and planning for necessary infrastructure maintenance. Additionally, the Council addressed the inclusion of new staff positions to support planning, engineering, public works, information technology, and communications, as well as the potential appointment of an associate judge and the management of water and wastewater capital improvements.

The council reviewed and approved Resolution R-20175-70, which outlines the proposal to adopt a property tax rate of 0.564 for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. This action includes scheduling two upcoming public hearings as required by law, as the proposed rate exceeds the calculated effective and rollback rates.
