The board meeting included recognitions for School Board Appreciation Month, student honors including elementary school superstars and students receiving College Board National Awards, and a tribute to the retiring superintendent. Presentations were provided regarding the Long Range Emergent Bilingual Planning Committee's initiatives and progress, as well as an overview of the upcoming budget calendar for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

The board conducted recognition for students, held a closed session to discuss the superintendent's contract and board member evaluations, and heard presentations on the district's annual report and mid-year assessment. Action items included approval of class size waivers, addressing teacher contract abandonment, deciding against a nomination for the Central Appraisal District Board, and authorizing wage payments during emergency closings. The board also approved various consent agenda items, including campus improvement plans, construction packages for the 2024 bond program, and various service contracts and bid proposals.

The Board held a called meeting to discuss and consider candidates for the position of Superintendent. Following a closed session held pursuant to the Texas Government Code, the Board reconvened to the public and voted unanimously to hire Dr. Tiffanie Spencer as the new Superintendent of Schools.

The board conducted a closed session to consult with legal counsel and deliberate on personnel matters and Level III grievances. Following the closed session, the board reconvened in public and took formal action to deny two separate Level III grievances filed by Mr. Whitefield and Mr. Stevenson, effectively denying the relief requested in both instances.

The board meeting highlighted district recognitions including students honored for character virtues, National Merit Scholar finalists, academic decathlon achievements, and gold medal winning student athletes in swimming and diving. Additionally, three members of the communications and marketing department were recognized for state-level awards. The board also celebrated students who appeared in a television show. A presentation was provided regarding the Teacher Incentive Allotment, covering the district's plan to apply for the program to reward highly effective teachers based on performance and academic growth.
