The Board of Adjustment discussed a variance request from the City of Greenville Project Management Department regarding sidewalk requirements for a new development in Wildwood Park. Additionally, the board conducted an election of officers, re-electing the current chair and electing a new vice chair.

The Commission discussed revisions to its rules of procedure, including renaming the planning department, dissolving the publicity committee, and moving the public comment period to the beginning of meetings. Committee membership for the design review and selection committees was reviewed, noting a change in quorum and full committee definitions. Updates were provided on minor works and the upcoming historic window preservation and restoration workshop. Additionally, progress on the design standards task force was reported, with upcoming review meetings scheduled.

The commission discussed the removal of an item from the agenda regarding a request from Pogo LLC, which was tabled for a future meeting. The primary new business item was a request from MOW Properties LLC to rezone a property from residential to general commercial use. The commission held a public hearing and deliberated on the potential impact of the rezoning, specifically concerning safety, traffic, and the historical use of the property. Staff recommended denial of the request, and the commission discussed the complexities of rezoning versus conditional or special use permits.
