The board meeting featured several special recognitions, including the presentation of the Amy John Crawford, JJ, and Harriet C. West Prize to a high-achieving student, recognition of exceptional student artists from Parkersburg South High School, and the state-winning video team from Jackson Middle School. Additionally, students were recognized for their performance in the statewide stock market game, and the meeting included the formal recognition of National Board Certified Teachers and local school resource officers. The session concluded with a presentation regarding facilities at Jackson Middle School.

The board conducted a budget work session for the upcoming fiscal year. Key actions included the appointment of the Treasurer for FY2027 and the distribution of excess levy funds to various area organizations, such as local libraries, Artsbridge, the YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club, the New Era School, and WVU Extension.
