Wellesley Public Schools School Year Calendar 2025-2035
This document outlines the policy and standards for the annual school calendar. It establishes minimum instructional days and hours for elementary (180 days, 900 hours) and secondary (180 days, 990 hours) schools, setting the overall calendar structure to 185 days in accordance with the Wellesley Teachers Association agreement. A key component is the academic calendar model, which allocates a maximum of four non-mandated school holidays. These include three static observances (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Good Friday) and one rotating holiday selected from Diwali, Eid al Fitr, or Lunar New Year. The document provides a rotational schedule through the 2034-2035 school year and mandates a review of the model every eight years.
