This video abstract introduces "Future design," a practical framework aimed at enabling society to become "good ancestors" by intentionally creating a world future generations will appreciate. It addresses the systemic issues in modern society that lead to "future failures" due to a lack of long-term thinking. The framework is built upon activating three core human abilities: "futureability," which is the capacity to derive joy from contributing to future generations; "presentability," fostering empathy and fairness for contemporary individuals; and "pastability," which involves learning from historical decisions. These abilities are developed sequentially to transform thought processes and decision-making for long-term benefit.
