The commission reviewed and approved contract award recommendations for several infrastructure projects, including Stanton-Essex, Browning-Urban, Helena pedestrian improvements, and N-24 curve safety improvements. Additionally, the commission approved the award recommendation memo for the Kagy Boulevard project from 19th to Willson.

The meeting focused on the approval of the Statewide Impaired Driving Strategic Plan. Participants reviewed federal requirements for high-range states concerning alcohol-impaired driving fatalities and discussed plans for an upcoming Impaired Driving Assessment. Additionally, the team engaged in an open discussion regarding roadway safety issues, specifically noting the need for primary seat belt laws, stronger DUI legislation, and increased focus on distracted driving. Support for law enforcement funding and the well-being of first responders were also highlighted as critical areas for future action.

The Commission addressed several infrastructure projects, including local construction projects on the state highway system for various cities and counties, the addition of new projects to the Bridge Program, the National Highway System Program, and the Transportation Alternatives Program. Discussions were held regarding coordination with municipalities on highway projects, especially concerning urban routes. Additionally, the Commission approved several interim speed limit recommendations and established a timeline for follow-up speed studies. Certificates of completion were reviewed for projects from late 2025. Finally, the Commission approved the Project Delivery Selection Process for bridge projects, specifically the Little Bighorn River at Crow Agency and the Bighorn River near Bighorn, while addressing concerns regarding agency staffing shortages for structural engineers.

The Commission reviewed and approved staff recommendations for two highway and bridge construction projects, specifically the Mosby-West project and the I-15 bridge decks south of Dillon. Additionally, the meeting included an informational update from the Director regarding a proposed legislative bill.

The commission reviewed staff recommendations for transportation projects. Specifically, the board authorized the withdrawal of the lowest bidder and approved the award of a project contract to the second lowest responsive bidder regarding the Bear Canyon Interchange project.
