The meeting focused on addressing operational challenges following a tornado event. The authority approved a resolution to temporarily stay rental rate increases for tenants through the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Additionally, the authority granted the City Manager the power to execute aircraft storage leases and lease amendments to facilitate tenant retention and relocation efforts.

The board considered and approved a budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 totaling $3,000,000 for the Shawnee Municipal Authority Fund. The amendment facilitates the transfer of funds to the Grant Fund to address emergency service contract costs necessitated by the April 19, 2023, tornado event.
