State Of New Hampshire Priority Climate Action Plan
The New Hampshire Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) aims to create a pathway supporting investments in policies, practices, and technologies that reduce pollutant emissions, create jobs, spur economic growth, and enhance quality of life. It summarizes past and present greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, provides a state-level GHG inventory, lists priority measures to reduce GHG emissions, and analyzes how these measures benefit low-income, disadvantaged communities. Priority measures focus on transportation (electric vehicle infrastructure, incentives for EV purchases, expanded public transit), residential buildings (heat pumps, weatherization), local government (resilient energy systems, energy efficiency improvements), waste management (waste reduction, diversion, recycling), and workforce development. The plan builds on existing energy policies and programs, incorporating stakeholder engagement to identify opportunities and develop specific goals and outcomes. While significant GHG emission reductions have already been achieved since 2005, the PCAP leverages technological innovations for further reductions in energy use, costs, and emissions.
