The meeting concerned the opening of bids for the 2026 Sugar Creek Spillway project. Four bids were initially opened and reviewed, with Austin Tyler Construction identified as the apparent lowest bidder against an engineer's estimate of approximately $85,000. Following the meeting, it was determined that a fifth bid had been submitted by the deadline but was not received by the clerk in time due to an administrative error. Consequently, the entity decided to reject the initial bids, not award the project, and restart the bid solicitation process to ensure fairness.
