South Carolina Strategic Highway Safety Plan 2025-2029
The 2025-2029 South Carolina Strategic Highway Safety Plan aims to significantly reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roadways. It identifies 13 emphasis areas categorized into Infrastructure, Human Factors, and High-Risk Roadway Users. Strategies are developed using the Federal Highway Administration's '4 Es' of highway safety: Engineering, Education, Enforcement, and Emergency Response, alongside the USDOT's Safe System Approach. The plan emphasizes data analysis, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and continuous evaluation to adapt to changing safety trends and resources, fostering a robust safety culture across the state.
