The Board meeting focused on reviewing several zoning petitions, including a request for an extension of previously granted zoning variances for 238 West 5th Avenue, a request for a variance to permit shed installation exceeding maximum building coverage at 806 Maple Street, and a variance request for an accessory shed structure with a zero-foot setback at 236 West 11th Avenue.

The Council authorized the issuance of a notice of intent to award a construction contract for the Second Avenue Veterans Memorial Plaza to NJS Concrete LLC, subject to a contractor responsibility determination. Additionally, the Council approved a mutual aid agreement for the Regional Fire Investigation Team, and members received reports regarding local community events and ongoing environmental projects.

The meeting included a swearing-in ceremony for a new police officer, followed by the approval of a proclamation recognizing National Police Week. A presentation was provided regarding the September 11 National Memorial Trail signage project, which involves installing signs across Pennsylvania. Finally, a presentation was delivered on a three-year, $6 million infrastructure improvement road program, detailing the methodology for selecting 17 roadways for renovation between 2027 and 2029.

The council received an update from the Department of Recreation Services highlighting growth in programming and revenue, and heard a presentation on the Borough Hall rain garden revitalization project. Key business actions included authorizing the advertisement for the CDBG curb ramp installation project and awarding a bid for the Second Avenue Veterans Memorial Plaza. The council also approved an escrow release for a residential property, updated investment policy statements for pension and trust plans, and passed a resolution for the purchase of a property on Fayette Street. Finally, the council reviewed the 2025 Sewer Authority Annual Report and 2026 outlook.
