The Jasper County Council meeting covered several topics, including additional appropriations for various funds such as the Recorder's Reeds Perpetuation Fund, LIT CO Share Econ. Development, Prosecutor Federal Forfeiture, and County General. Transfers were approved for the Extension Office, Recorder's Reeds Perpetuation Fund, and the Surveyor in County General. The 2025 Salary Ordinance was approved, and discussions were held regarding the Public Defender Office and its inclusion in the salary ordinance. Contracts for the Sheriff and the County Attorney were approved. A resolution supporting modification of the abatement scorecard process for commercial solar energy systems and battery energy storage systems in Jasper County was also discussed and approved with changes. The council discussed the possibility of a fourth sergeant and corporal within the Sheriff's Department. Additionally, the EMS Director resigned and was replaced by Corey Myers.
