The meeting focused on the appointment of new members to the Weakley County Board of Equalization. Two individuals, Zack Lunsford and Beckie Jolley, were officially approved for terms ending in May 2026.

The Commission addressed the appointment of members to the Weakley County Ag Extension Committee. Specifically, the body approved the reappointment of Eric Owen and Mary Margaret Chester to serve two-year terms ending in December 2025.

The legislative body officially approved the appointment of Jack Vincent to the Weakley County Health and Safety Standards Board for a four-year term commencing in July 2024.

The committee held elections for the positions of Chairman, Vice Chair, and Recording Secretary. Discussions focused on the current progress of the fiber grant, including the recruitment of additional members to the committee. Furthermore, the committee addressed contractual agreements with WK&T, noting a plan to work with the County Attorney to modify payment terms for the remaining project funds and acknowledging the deadline for spending Covid-related grant money.
