The Borough Council discussed a pending lawsuit concerning a land use matter and deliberated on the course of action for future litigation.

The council meeting covered various topics, including the approval of bills and minutes from previous meetings. Committee and engineer reports detailed updates on the Hawthorn Landfill, several NJDOT Local Aid Grants (Beach Road, Columbia Boulevard & Pine Street; Second Street; Simpson Avenue; Asbury Avenue; and grant applications for Wesley and Lakehurst Avenues), well replacements, the PFNA Treatment Project, Lakehurst Avenue Watermain Extension, Asset Management Plan, NJPDES Permit compliance, and PFNA litigation. The solicitor, police chief, and fire chief also provided reports. New business included discussion of the upcoming Memorial Day parade. Ordinances and resolutions were adopted, including one to exceed municipal budget appropriation limits, adoption of the 2022 Gloucester County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update, authorization for the issuance and sale of bonds, designation of May as Williams Syndrome Awareness Month, authorization for reading the 2022 Municipal Operating Budget by title only, adoption of the 2022 Municipal Budget, establishment of installment plans for residential ratepayers, and authorization to submit a grant application for resurfacing Lakehurst and Wesley Avenues.
