City Council Meeting Minutes
The council reviewed a monthly report from the Chamber of Commerce regarding upcoming community events and student initiatives. A partnership proposal with First Service Bank was approved to fund upgrades at the baseball complex, including field turfing, a new bathroom and concession stand, and the construction of a Miracle League field, in exchange for renaming the facility. A resolution was passed to rename the Fire Station Training and Conference Room in honor of the former Fire Chief. The council discussed water infrastructure improvements, including a proposed water tank project and a potential reallocation of wastewater project funds. Additional discussions included upcoming candidate filing periods, county updates regarding jail construction and road projects, and a review of fire department retirement funding. The council approved performance bonuses for city employees during an executive session.
