The board discussed a zoning application for properties on Michigan Avenue. The applicant requested variances from the Zoning Ordinance regarding rear yard setbacks, landscape buffer requirements adjacent to residential zoning, and the installation of a 6-foot-high wall within a front yard setback.

The commission discussed the placement of flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day, concluding it fell outside their mission, and addressed matters regarding the Sheldon School.

The meeting included public hearings for a special land use request for a multi-tenant commercial building at the former Bowery site and a rezoning proposal from C-4 Interchange Service district to C-3 Regional Commercial district at the former Bob Evans site. Old business involved a site plan modification for a landscape project at Canton-Western Wayne.
