Redding Planning Commission Regular Meeting
The Commission reviewed an application by Eric Bullert for a contractor storage yard at 2520 and 2530 Lockheed Drive. The proposal involves a site development permit, a rezoning request from General Commercial to General Industry, and a corresponding general plan amendment. Key discussion topics included the project's adherence to River Creek corridor regulations, site screening requirements, and floodplain considerations. The Commission discussed an inconsistency finding issued by the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) regarding the General Plan designation, with staff advising that the city maintain the authority to overrule this finding based on the project's compatibility with existing industrial uses and lack of impact on safety or noise. Additionally, the project was evaluated for environmental compliance under CEQA via a categorical exemption and addendums to existing environmental impact reports.
