The committee held its first session of the school year to review its purpose, roles, and responsibilities. The committee discussed federal program information related to the ESSA Grant, including Title I, Part A for at-risk student support, Title II, Part A for teacher and principal development, and Title III, Part A for services for Emergent Bilingual students. Additionally, staff reviewed the District Improvement Plan and provided feedback and guidance on areas for improvement.

The President's Report highlighted the dedication of district staff and recognized the Teachers of the Year. The Board provided updates on staff compensation, including the disbursement of a payment funded by the VATRE and the upcoming introduction of a more competitive salary structure. Additionally, the district issued a call for community applications to serve on a transition team for campus consolidation efforts.
