Council Special Meeting
The Council held a special meeting that included closed session discussions regarding regional water systems, infrastructure coordination, council expenses, and the appointment of an external auditor. Following the return to open session, the Council appointed MNP as the external auditor for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and related entities. Further business included the approval of several bylaws regarding land use regulations, rural water and wastewater service connections, roads and transportation, community standards, and the establishment of an Intergovernmental Relations Standing Committee. The Council also approved capital budget amendments for the Waterfront Park project, the Fort Chipewyan Aquatic Centre Chemical Storage Facility, and park accessibility upgrades. Additionally, the Council authorized administration to act in designated industrial property assessment appeals, established tax sale conditions, accepted an update on the urban snow and ice control program, and received information on the impact of additional hires.
