The meeting included discussions and authorizations related to Cypress Energy Corporation's request for sealed bids with the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, reinstating IBTS 3rd party provider service in the unincorporated areas of the Parish, the Krewe of Demeter hosting an outside event at the David Means 4H Building, the Cleco Power LLC Servitude Agreement, and delegating to the Clerk of Court the recommendation of election day polling locations to the DPPJ.

The DeSoto Parish Local ITEP Committee meeting addressed the Industrial Tax Exemption Program (ITEP). Discussions included potential projects by International Paper, involving infrastructure renewals, upgrades, and modernization efforts. Two applications were submitted, one for modernization/replacement and another for new investments, due to state requirements for splitting such applications. The committee also discussed the importance of these projects for the mill's viability and competitiveness, as well as potential environmental benefits related to water and fuel use.

The board meeting included discussions and actions on several key items. The board approved the addition of new business to the agenda, allowing the Clerk of Court, under the new administration, to adjust Election Day commissioners as necessary. Each Early Voting machine was verified, approved, and resealed by the board members. The board also approved allowing the new DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court to adjust Election Day commissioners as necessary.

The meeting included announcements about early voting machine testing and sealing. The board appointed an individual as the Commissioner-in-charge of Precincts 33 and 33A and another to serve as a commissioner in precincts 46B and 48. Commissioners were drawn for the Fall 2024 Election cycle.
