The City Council meeting included a swearing-in ceremony for new police officers. The council declared April 2022 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and April 27, 2022, as Denim Day. The Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District was commended on its 70th anniversary. The city administrator reported on new businesses, partnerships to aid the unhoused population, a Clean California grant for Vernon Park, the Southern California Public Power Association (SCAPA) newsletter, a Vernon job fair, and community engagement.
