The meeting began with a call to order. Key discussions included a motion suggesting the district add healthy options to concessions, rather than partnering with an outside agency, through the Reaching Well program. For Family and Community Involvement, updates were shared on the Strong Fathers Program, and considerations for future event naming inclusivity were noted. Regarding Health Services, an update was provided on the underutilized Mobile Health Clinic, with suggestions made for better promotion, and a future vaccination clinic was announced. For Healthy School Environment, it was shared that the district's Wellness Plan was adopted by the Board the previous month. Health Education involved an explanation of the ongoing Fitnessgram assessment.

The SHAC meeting included introductions, election of officers, and a review of sex education curriculum programs, with a recommendation for Big Decisions. Discussions covered family and community involvement, including a college fair and a pack/play program. Health services updates included flu shots, and counseling and guidance programs such as Character Strong, SEL, Cloud Nine, and TCHATT were discussed. Nutritional services, physical education, healthy school environment policies, and employee health and wellness initiatives were also addressed, including the Walk Across Texas program. A Recess Sub Committee was formed.

The meeting included a presentation by Texas A\&M Agrilife Extension-Family and Community Health, proposing a partnership to foster Healthy Concessions through the REACHing Well program. A draft version of the District Wellness Plan was introduced, reviewed, and recommended for adoption by the Board. Discussion items included an informational video regarding the SHAC, GETCAP-HeadStart enrollment, encouragement for flu shots, the availability of Kalin's Center to provide Play-It-Safe curricula, and the weight room availability after hours.

The meeting included a review of minutes from the previous meeting, the nomination of a new chair, and a presentation on the SHAC/Texas Open Meeting Act Training. There was a review of curriculums, including the Latino Family Literacy Project. Discussions also covered hearing and vision screenings, TCHATT (Texas child health access therapy for students), and the implementation of the Character Strong curriculum. The importance of self-care was discussed, with plans to present on the topic to staff.

The SHAC meeting included discussions on several topics. A presentation was postponed to the next meeting, and nominations and elections of officers were tabled. Information was shared about the Transition Conference and a Watch Party during Red Ribbon week. The district's use of Character Strong and Cloud 9 curriculum for Social-Emotional learning and the partnership with the University Of Texas at Tyler for online therapy services were discussed. Student input on cafeteria food was gathered, and concerns about the school zone were raised. The Mobile Health Clinic, available to staff, students, and the community, was also discussed.
