The committee discussed the City Hall Front Lawn Project, focusing on the southern section development which includes a proposed fireplace, memorial tree, and other amenities to secure funding from the Ralph C. Additionally, a business proposal from Elite Vending, LLC regarding vending machines at Lake Front Park was presented and recommended for further review by the City Attorney and Administration.
The council conducted business including the approval of commission and board reappointments and the renewal of Medicare Advantage and Humana plans for 2027. Various claims and accounts for city engineering, legal, and assessing services were approved, including invoices for road, water main, and sewer infrastructure programs. A zoning variance request for rear and side yard setbacks on Norton Court was approved. Additionally, a special land use request for a proposed golf simulator on Mack Avenue was approved with conditions.
The board conducted a public hearing regarding a variance request for 19961 Norton Court, where the applicants sought relief for rear and side yard setback requirements to construct a home addition. After reviewing the City Planner's recommendation and testimony, the board approved a 5.5-foot rear yard variance and a 1.0-foot side yard variance, determining the request met the criteria for a practical difficulty and was consistent with the intent of the zoning ordinance. Following the hearing, the board moved to certify the meeting minutes and adjourned.
