The Commission convened to discuss the appointment of the next State Public Defender. After entering into executive session to consider this personnel matter, the Commission returned to open session and officially appointed Elizabeth R. Miller as the next State Public Defender, effective December 31, 2023. Additionally, the Commission authorized the Chair to sign and distribute necessary announcements regarding this appointment.
