The committee discussed updates from Adirondack Roots regarding completed housing projects and upcoming ribbon-cutting events. Referrals were reviewed and passed for the Town of Essex regarding their Comprehensive Plan, for the Town of Ticonderoga concerning a battery energy storage system moratorium and site plan review, and for the Town of Newcomb for site plan review. Reports were provided on new facility developments, 4H programs, senior wellness initiatives, and regional marketing efforts including website rebuilds and upcoming events. Discussions also addressed workforce survey results and strategies for managing event-related maintenance demands on town park departments.

The meeting focused on updates regarding several facility projects, including the Ag and Youth Building, the former Probation Building, and the Frontier Town site assessment. A significant portion of the session was dedicated to a comprehensive overview of roadway maintenance, covering asset management, the use of data collection technology like traffic counters and GIS mapping, pavement rehabilitation processes, and strategies for extending road life. Additionally, challenges such as asphalt costs, fuel prices, and the short construction season were discussed alongside budget considerations and the planning of future road work schedules.

Following the executive session, the board adopted a resolution supporting the passage of New York State Senate Bill S-8482-A and Assembly Bill A-9098-A, which amends state tax law regarding the use of revenues from hotel/motel occupancy taxes in Essex County.
