This document outlines school district goals with an overarching vision to inspire, cultivate, and empower all learners to maximize their potential. This District Comprehensive Improvement Plan for 2025-2026 focuses on three key priorities to enhance student achievement. The plan aims to increase proficiency and participation rates in ELA, Math, and Science assessments for all students, with a specific emphasis on improving outcomes for the African American/Black student subgroup. Strategies include targeted after-school tutoring, data-driven instruction, science camps, and professional development to foster student success and empowerment.

The Whitesboro Central School District Board of Education discussed the Smart Schools Investment Plan (SSIP) 1, which focuses on upgrading the cable plant infrastructure at Elementary and Parkway Schools. The plan aims to improve learning opportunities for students and future employment potential. The SSIP1 is estimated at $2,114,309 and includes constructing standards-compliant technology rooms, installing communications pathways, and installing new fiber optic backbone and Cat 6/6A horizontal cabling. The funding covers school internal connections and components, professional services, asbestos abatement, design and construction contingencies, and incidentals.

The agenda included a discussion and resolution regarding an emergency sanitary/sewer line replacement at the District's transportation facility. Due to the unanticipated collapse of the line, the Board waived competitive bidding requirements and authorized the Superintendent to make necessary emergency expenditures. The nature, scope, and costs of the emergency, expected to be approximately $180,000, will be documented and reported to the Board at subsequent meetings. All procurements will be cost-effective, transparent, and compliant with Board policies and applicable laws.

The meeting included discussions and actions on several key items. The board addressed the approval of votes from the Annual/Special District Meeting, including results for the budget and Proposition 1. Additionally, there was an approval of a SEQRA Resolution related to the 2023/2024 Capital Outlay Project for Marcy Elementary. The meeting also involved discussion, public comment, and an executive session.
