The public hearing was called to order to discuss an ordinance amending the Stroud Township Code by adding a new part 5, Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA). The ordinance provides for real estate tax exemptions for new construction and improvements to deteriorated property, pursuant to the Pennsylvania Local Economic Revitalization Tax Qualifications for obtaining such exemptions. A minor subdivision plan for the Lands Of The Borough Of Stroudsburg, The County Of Monroe And The Animal Welfare Society Of Monroe was discussed and approved with modifications. The Public Comment Policy discussion was tabled, and an application for real estate tax exemption by a veteran was acknowledged. The board also entered an executive session to discuss litigation, real property, personnel, and security matters.
The Public Hearing of the Stroud Township Board of Supervisors was held to discuss the Change of Zoning District Designation Of A Certain Parcels Located Along S.R. 611 From The Office Commercial District (C-4) To The General Commercial District (C-2) And Make A Corresponding Amendment To The Township's Official Zoning Map To Reflect This Rezoning. The board approved the Change of Zoning District Designation.
The purpose of the hearing was to discuss determining the boundaries of a deteriorated area or areas wholly or partially located within Stroud Township's boundaries, for a purposed Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance Act (LERTA) Ordinance. The board approved the LERTA area for Hayward Labs Parcel #17.3.1.24 and to move forward with adopting an ordinance.
