This document outlines the Lafayette County School District's plan to ensure student mastery of content for Carnegie unit credit during the 2020-2021 school year. This plan addresses the suspension of minimum instructional hour requirements due to COVID-19, focusing on compliance with Mississippi Public School Accountability Standards. Key procedures include utilizing Google Classroom and MDE approved courses for instruction, adhering to Mississippi College and Career Readiness Frameworks, administrative monitoring of lesson plans and instruction, and assessing student mastery through assignments, quizzes, tests, and benchmark assessments.

The Board discussed and approved several items, including a Memorandum of Understanding with Mission Acceleration, the Final Amended FYE 2021 Budget, and fixed asset deletions for the Transportation Department. Personnel actions were taken regarding a new cafeteria staff appointment and a resignation. Additionally, the Board approved a change to an AFJROTC field trip.

The meeting included recognitions for various District State Championship teams, a presentation regarding a proposed new field house, and an overview of summer maintenance projects. District business involved approving facility use requests, contractual agreements for the school year, emergency and general maintenance purchases, and various educational plans including English Learners, Homeless Children and Youth, and Foster Care plans. The Board also reviewed and authorized policy revisions, an engine replacement, the purchase of new school buses, and a Memorandum of Understanding for student teachers. Fiscal approvals included the monthly financial report, claim docket, fixed asset deletions, and resolutions related to a loan for district improvements, ad valorem taxes, and budget planning. Additionally, personnel actions were taken, student releases for the upcoming year were approved, and several class field trips were authorized.

The board approved multiple agreements and contracts for the 2023-2024 school year, including services for pest control, legal counsel, and network upgrades. They also authorized an increase in monthly open purchase orders, bus motor repairs, and approved various educational and administrative plans such as the Professional Development Plan, Federal Programs Funding Application, Faculty and Staff Handbook, Dropout Prevention Plan, English Learners Plan, Foster Care Plan, Homeless Plan, and Instructional Management Plan. Additionally, the board addressed personnel matters, including new hires, salary adjustments, resignations, and a superintendent contract evaluation conducted in executive session. Student transfer and release requests were also processed.
