Board Meeting
The meeting focused on the Facility Master Plan, specifically discussing Option 2 and Option 3 concerning the configuration of elementary schools and associated sites. Discussions included level of support from attendees and non-attendees for both options, site preferences (Barr, Taft, Warstler, Middlebranch, Glenwood), and enrollment comparisons based on updated OFCC enrollment figures for the 2030-31 school year, along with associated costs. The agenda also covered phasing and bond support, where a significant portion of the community indicated support for a $120 million bond issue and the proposed phasing schedule. The final recommendation presented was Option 2, Phase I, involving three elementary schools (One PK-4, Two K-4) with potential sites including Barr, Middlebranch, Taft, and Warstler, emphasizing considerations such as right-sizing due to state enrollment reports and fiscal responsibility.
