This document outlines the LAU Plan, a comprehensive program for providing effective educational services to multilingual learners (MLs) within Maine School Administrative District 15, Gray-New Gloucester, Maine. Grounded in federal legislation and Supreme Court decisions, the plan details procedures for ML identification, assessment of English Language Development (ELD) needs, parent notification and involvement, and the provision of ELD services through an Individualized Language Acquisition Plan (ILAP). Key components include the establishment of a Language Acquisition Committee (LAC), ongoing program evaluation, record keeping, and ensuring equitable access to all academic and extracurricular programs for ML students.

The meeting included discussions regarding the use of new microphones for in-person and online streaming, upcoming committee meetings in December, and recognition of the main mobile biolab and its STEM activities for middle school students. Recognition was also given to students for honors music selections and athletic awards, including the cross country team's academic excellence award. The meeting addressed the use of Reach My Teach to improve family and community engagement with schools, including translation of communications. Further discussion included the process for district-wide messages and the fine-tuning of message delivery.

The meeting included recognition of the Patriot Players for their upcoming performance of Fiddler on the Roof, as well as Olivia Gallagher for publishing a book. Lisa Nedler was also recognized as a teacher leader fellow by the Maine Department of Education. The board considered hiring Sean Susi as a teacher at the middle school.

The meeting began with a moment of silence to honor Michael Stash, Stacy Stradard, and Richard Dick Barter, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Upcoming meetings and events were announced, including committee meetings and the Gracer High School homecoming. The Grey New Glaster High School was ranked second by the US News World Report. New staff members were introduced.
