Cowichan Valley Regional District Special Electoral Area Services Committee Minutes
The committee discussed the Comprehensive Zoning Project, specifically evaluating options for restarting the public engagement process using a topic-based approach. Following a failed initial motion, the committee recommended that staff continue to compile and retain input received on the draft Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw. Furthermore, it was recommended that, with the exception of development applications, all staff and consultant activities related to the Zoning Bylaw, Local Area Plans, Development Permit Areas, and Modernized Official Community Plan amendments be paused until after the upcoming local government election and the adoption of a new corporate strategic plan. Additionally, the committee prioritized the expediting of current and backlogged development applications.
