It focuses on key areas such as fostering a neighborly community, promoting unique development, ensuring a vibrant economy, maintaining safety, building resilient infrastructure, encouraging an active community, and striving for excellence in city operations. The plan includes specific activities and initiatives for 2025-2026 to achieve these strategic outcomes.
The City Council meeting included a work session presenting the proposed FY24-25 budget, which notably includes additions for police officers, parks maintenance workers, and library operations staff. Consent items included approval for access to online CloudLibrary resources launching in January 2025. A rezoning request was approved, and dates were set for public hearings on the budget and proposed property tax rate. The council also authorized the issuance of certificates of obligation to fund fire trucks, municipal buildings, and sewer improvements.
The 2024-2025 Strategic Work Plan for the City of Anna focuses on seven key areas: Neighborly, Unique, Vibrant, Safe, Resilient, Active, and Excellent. The Neighborly focus aims to foster community pride and engagement through various initiatives.
