Clovis City Council Meeting
The council proclaimed US Constitution Week, approved the consent calendar, and honored a deceased former police sergeant. The primary administrative focus was the adoption of a new policy governing the timing of off-site infrastructure improvements for new developments. This policy establishes a structured framework for connecting infrastructure construction timelines with project entitlements, incorporating requirements for traffic studies, developer good faith standards, and city authority to suspend permits for non-compliance. The council further discussed the role of interim infrastructure improvements in maintaining public safety and the coordination of major utility projects.
The commission reviewed and approved a conditional use permit for a convenience store located at 2585 Owens Mountain Parkway, which permits the sale of beer and wine for off-site consumption. Additionally, the commission considered items related to a 7.39-acre property at the corner of Shaw and Locan Avenues, including a general plan amendment and rezoning, to address the city's housing element and regional housing needs allocation requirements.
