This document outlines the vision for Murray County's economic development, aiming to create an inviting and livable community in North Georgia. The vision emphasizes superior academic accountability, an educated and engaged workforce supporting a business-friendly, entrepreneurial, and diversified economy. Following a strategic planning process, the county is implementing a five-year project focused on improving its workforce, business environment, and residents' quality of life, fostering community pride and a sustainable future through collaboration with local cities, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Industrial Development Authority.

The meeting included the approval of the agenda. New business covered the approval of the Murray County Land Use & Planning Commission minutes from January 20, 2026. The Commissioner executed a Mutual Agreement with the GA Ports Authority to extend law enforcement and security services through June 1, 2026, coinciding with the Ports Authority's transition to an upgraded security system. A Resolution was executed authorizing the County's pledge of ad valorem tax revenues to secure the Murray County School District Series 2026 Bonds. A contract with North Georgia Consulting Group, LLC was executed for the 12-month update and revision of the Hazard Mitigation Plan, with compensation structured for full reimbursement. Finally, approval was noted for the GA Department of Transportation 2026 Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant funds, totaling $878,701.17, which were received on February 9, 2026, and allocated for specific paving projects. Annual reports for SPLOST & T-SPLOST funded projects were noted as published.

The Murray County Commissioner will hold a public meeting to adopt the 2026 Fiscal Year Operating Budget.

The meeting included discussion and approval of the Murray County Land Use & Planning Commission (MCLUPC) minutes. A Mutual Agreement for Termination of Lease between Murray County, Georgia, and Friends of the Greenhouse, Inc. was executed. An agreement with Schneider Geospatial, LLC was approved, replacing the existing qPublic.net agreement. Brandon Gibson and Brenda Jackson were re-appointed to the Limestone Valley Resource Conservation & Development Council. The commissioner held the 2nd Reading to Amend Appendix B Zoning.
