The Saint Martin's University Career Readiness Framework aims to embed employability and career readiness into all aspects of the student experience. It outlines the roles of various stakeholders, including the Center for Career & Calling, faculty/staff, students/alumni, and employers, in achieving this goal. The framework focuses on providing services and programming to support students' development of career and life readiness competencies, fostering connections between classroom learning and career paths, and offering resources such as career fairs, mentoring, internships, and professional development to prepare graduates for a successful transition into the workplace.
The 2026 Strategic Plan for Saint Martin's University focuses on five key areas: Investing in our People, Leveraging Core Curriculum to Distinguish SMU, Enhancing Mission Integration, Modernizing Technology & IT Service Delivery, and Increasing Financial Stability. The plan aims to improve employee compensation and retention, enhance the student experience through high-impact practices and distinctive degree programs, strengthen the university's Catholic, Benedictine identity, modernize technology and IT infrastructure, and improve financial stability through increased revenue generation and endowment growth. Specific initiatives include policy and compliance reviews, organizational restructuring, wellness programs, curriculum enhancements, marketing improvements, and financial literacy training. The plan uses a measurable, transparent, and agile approach, with annual improvement projects and regular performance reviews.
The event was held to honor inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor. Key topics included a review of athletic department achievements over the previous two years despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, such as receiving the presidential award of academic excellence. The director of athletics highlighted successes in men's and women's golf, softball, and upcoming hosting responsibilities for basketball and softball tournaments. Formal inductions were conducted for Father Meinrad, noted for his vision in creating the campus pavilion, and the 2008 women's golf team, the first in school history to reach the NCAA west regionals.
