The commission recognized four retiring employees and adopted a resolution designating September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. A presentation was provided regarding the 25th Anniversary Jazz Jam Fest. The meeting included public hearings on county financial reports and the vacation of a portion of Old Cedar Point Road. Agenda items approved included the payment of claims, an agreement for website hosting and maintenance, professional services for lightning protection at the Strickland Youth Center, and amendments to the capital improvement plan to fund the Sportsplex Phase 3 Championship Field. Additionally, several sponsorship and joint purchasing agreements were authorized.
