The meeting commenced with the call to order and a review of the mission and vision statements. A significant portion of the meeting involved student presentations highlighting achievements in innovation and leadership from Harris County Carver Middle School, specifically featuring the Acts of Kindness Club, the Green Power STEM program where students build and race electric go-karts, and the Junior Beta Club, which was recognized as an outstanding leadership school. The Board also recognized Ms. Brittany Moss as the Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year for the State of Georgia by the National Association of Biology Teachers. Furthermore, the first Professor Von Oops Awards were presented to two deserving teachers, recognizing creativity in instruction. Finally, Ms. Moss presented a proposal regarding the Guy Harvey Conservation School status and scholarships for teachers to fund conservation-related field trips.

The meeting included a pledge of allegiance and recognition of guests. Discussions covered a teacher admin for a day fundraiser, revisions to board policies on drug-free workplaces and staff conflict of interest, and a memorandum of agreement with Cartwheel Care. The board also reviewed proposed booster club bylaws. The superintendent's employment recommendations were approved. News and information included congratulations to the girls flag football team and recognition of staff achievements.

The Harris County Board of Education convened to review and approve the December 11th, 2025 monthly committee meeting agenda. The board moved to an executive session to discuss appointments, employment matters, property negotiations, student disciplinary appeals, and legal consultations. Following the executive session, the board addressed public participation, reviewed meeting minutes from November 2025, and listened to a curriculum update from Dr. Denny. The curriculum update included discussion of the Cognia accreditation process and CCRPI results.

The meeting included a curriculum update, focusing on assessment monitoring and the implementation of SAVIS in grades K-8, addressing initial challenges and adjustments based on feedback from administrators, committees, and parents.
