Additionally, the Commission amended a previously established Firefighter eligibility list to accommodate veteran points and reviewed various personnel status changes and appointments for the school district and city departments.
The session agenda includes a presentation from the Planning Project Manager regarding citywide zoning initiatives. Additionally, the Council will deliberate on future agenda items and address various municipal issues slated for discussion.
The council addressed several legislative and infrastructure matters, including the enactment of a Vacant Building and Land Ordinance, the establishment of private docking regulations for Ellicott Creek, and the approval of bond resolutions for a sidewalk vault reconstruction, repairs to the Twin City Heritage Center, and storm sewer improvements. Additionally, environmental review determinations (SEQR) were issued for various public works projects, and resolutions were passed to amend the City Charter regarding the Deputy City Attorney and to update vehicle removal and storage ordinances.
The Common Council addressed several key resolutions, including the renewal of a lease agreement with the Inner Harbor Yacht Club, Inc. for dock use on Ellicott Creek and the award of the Fillmore Ave Pump Station Evaluation project to GHD Consulting Services, Inc. Additionally, the Council authorized the Mayor to sign grant agreements with Erie County to support homelessness services and senior center programming. Permissions were also granted for the Fifth Annual Revival on the River and a Combat Veterans event. The council further moved to enter into an executive session to discuss exempt city business.
