The meeting featured presentations from the task force chairs and members regarding survivorhood, journey mapping of the court system, survivor storytelling, and opportunity areas. These presentations were aimed at discussing strategies to address gender-based violence within Cook County and outlining future initiatives for the task force.

The committee held an executive session during the meeting. Key actions included the filing of the Independent Inspector General Quarterly Report for the first quarter of 2026 and the receipt and filing of the Civil Rights/Torts Case Disposition Summary Report. The committee approved litigation matters, including cases involving the Estate of Vincent Roache, the Estate of Jose Lopez, and outside counsel invoices. Additionally, various pending litigation reports and files regarding cases such as Robinson v. Cook County Sheriff, Willis v. Cook County, Michael Bell and Michele Kidd v. Maria Pappas and Cook County, Cook County v. Insight Capital Ventures, the Estate of Angelica Bollas, and the Estate of Catherine Mitchell were received and filed.

The committee meeting focused on several departmental reports related to behavioral health services and public health. Key discussions included the presentation of the Cook County Department of Public Health's quarterly report, and the reception and filing of annual behavioral health reports from the Office of the Chief Judge, Cook County Health, the Cook County Sheriff's Office, and the State's Attorney, all submitted to fulfill requirements for assessing and improving the quality of behavioral health care in the county.

The committee reviewed and approved several pending litigation matters referred by the State's Attorney's Office, Civil Actions Bureau, involving various workers' compensation cases for Cook County. The cases addressed included litigation involving multiple individuals, such as John Bates, Steven Berg, Latonya Boyette, Mary Campbell, Christopher Correa, Kathy Dunn, Clint Gonzalez, James Gosling, Victoria Moody, Lenora Moton, Brian Napolitano, Pedro Ramirez, Roy Sanders, Erica Shelby, Bettye Smith, and Debra Williams.

The committee reviewed and recommended for approval several property tax incentive requests. Specifically, Class 8 property tax incentive requests were validated for H3 Holdings in the Village of Lansing and 5210 Hotels, LLC in the Village of Matteson. Additionally, a 6B property tax incentive request was validated for Chicago Specialty Bakers, Inc. in the Village of Forest Park. Each resolution involved determining that the respective properties were abandoned under special circumstances to justify the incentive eligibility for redevelopment purposes.
