This District of Innovation Plan empowers Hughes Springs ISD with greater local control and flexibility to enhance educational programming. It identifies key areas for statutory exemptions, including uniform school start dates, inter-district transfer policies, teacher employment contracts, certification requirements, and K-4 class size limits. The plan aims to cultivate a stable and secure environment, recognize student accomplishments, optimize instructional time, provide a needs-responsive curriculum, and foster increased commitment to education, ultimately preparing students to be productive and responsible citizens in a changing future.
