Occidental College Strategic Plan 2030
The Occidental Promise, a strategic plan for Occidental College, aims to make the institution the principal destination for urban liberal arts by 2030. It focuses on four intersecting themes: fostering new harmonies between tradition and innovation, strengthening the 'LA compact' by leveraging its Los Angeles location for mutual benefit, advancing equity and justice to ensure an environment where all can thrive, and providing a practical and impactful liberal arts experience. Key initiatives include expanding immersive liberal arts programs with hands-on, project-based learning and civic engagement, enhancing academic excellence through faculty support and facility upgrades, promoting 'Oxypreneurship', and integrating sustainability and equity lenses across all operations to prepare students for a complex and changing world.
