The strategic management plan outlines a path toward a sustainable future by identifying and evaluating natural, cultural, historic, recreational, and human resources, as well as infrastructure. It uses a SWOT analysis to set big-picture goals focused on promoting strengths, overcoming weaknesses, maximizing opportunities, and eliminating threats. Key goals include improving forest health and diversity, enhancing interpretation of historic resources, improving trail signage and sustainability, and fostering a "Friends" group to support park efforts.

Key goals include controlling invasive species, surveying park biodiversity, improving pollinator habitats, restoring the Williams family schoolhouse, preserving historic documents, enhancing recreational accessibility, and decreasing light pollution. The plan also aims to strengthen historic knowledge, improve maintenance practices, and renovate the Civilian Conservation Corps building for exhibits.
