For case MS2025005, the commission voted to require a survey after discussing potential archaeological sensitivity and site development. For case MS2025006, the commission examined topographic maps and discussed the feasibility and scope of requiring an archaeological survey for the parcel given its steep terrain.

The committee reviewed and approved several boundary line adjustment requests. These included adjustments involving property reconfigurations in various locations across Mendocino County, with some approvals contingent upon special conditions, such as the voluntary merger of parcels, submission of revised site maps showing septic systems, and resolution of encroachment violations related to driveway approaches.
The hearing addressed an administrative permit application for the installation of 14 storage containers at a commercial mini-storage facility. Key discussion points included compliance with CEQA categorical exemptions and the establishment of conditions of approval. A specific requirement regarding coordination with the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians for potential tribal monitoring during ground-disturbing activities was clarified with the applicant and agent.
The hearing focused on two primary cases. The first case involved a coastal development permit application to convert a portion of an existing garage into a family care unit. The Administrator approved the project with revised findings to reflect the accurate square footage of the garage conversion and standard conditions regarding lighting and environmental protections. The second case involved a coastal development permit to construct a secondary driveway, an addition to a shed for conversion into a guest cottage, the relocation of an existing travel trailer, and the installation of a new garage workshop and septic system. The Administrator approved this project, acknowledging the reduced buffer analysis and biological protections in place for the sensitive habitat areas.
