This plan for Recreation and Trails for the Village of Angel Fire, in collaboration with Angel Fire Resort and Girl Scouts of New Mexico, aims to enhance and expand recreational opportunities. It focuses on four key areas: planning, developing, and connecting trail systems for safe and accessible community destinations; creating a cohesive trail management plan with uniform standards for maintenance, safety, and use; developing and promoting a variety of recreational activities and events; and ensuring adequate funding and sustained maintenance for existing and future facilities, prioritizing improvements at Allen Fields.

The Village of Angel Fire outlines strategic goals and initiatives focused on enhancing the overall Quality of Life for its residents and guests. The plan addresses key areas such as fostering community character through new commercial and residential development opportunities and land use amendments; strengthening public safety by increasing police and fire department services, maintaining staffing levels, and establishing a fire-resilient community; ensuring access to quality public health services and attracting medical professionals; protecting and restoring the natural night sky by reducing light pollution; and maintaining, enhancing, and restoring the health of streams and wetlands within the Cieneguilla Creek watershed. The objectives aim to improve village infrastructure, services, and environmental sustainability, with a target to lower the Village ISO rating to a level 4 by 2030.
