The LEA Consolidated Plan for Tallassee City Schools aims to ensure high-quality education and close achievement gaps by enabling all children to meet challenging State academic standards. The plan outlines strategies for monitoring student progress, identifying and supporting at-risk students, and providing additional educational assistance through well-rounded programs. Key focus areas include addressing disparities in teacher effectiveness for low-income and minority students, fulfilling responsibilities for Comprehensive and Targeted Support and Improvement schools, and detailing poverty criteria for Title I funding. Additionally, it addresses services for homeless children and youths, coordination with early childhood education programs, facilitating student transitions, reducing disciplinary removals, and integrating academic and career/technical education. A core component is the implementation of comprehensive parent and family engagement strategies, including joint policy development, communication, support, and training.
The meeting involved standard opening procedures, including calling to order and establishing a quorum, followed by the approval of the agenda. The primary item of business conducted was a budget hearing.
