The board meeting included special recognition for students, teachers, and support staff of the month. The board received an investment quarterly report and held an executive session regarding personnel hiring and resignations, subsequently approving actions on those matters. The Superintendent provided enrollment updates and announced the appointment of a new benefits administrator. Furthermore, the board authorized the retention of auditing services, approved a library book purchase, and addressed items within the consent agenda including financial reports and budget amendments.

The board convened for a special meeting to conduct an executive session to discuss personnel matters. Following the session, the board took action and officially approved the hiring of a new Athletic Director.

The board meeting included a public comment session regarding access to the weight room and a formal action to review and approve the final budget amendment for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Board of Trustees held a regular meeting to conduct various school district business. Key actions included the recognition of Students and Teacher of the Month, the approval of a land sale, acceptance of the school safety audit, and adoption of an updated school calendar. The board reviewed and approved Campus Improvement Plans for elementary, middle, and high school levels, and discussed the strategic plan. Insurance and risk management fund memberships were approved, along with requisitions for student academic programs, new school bus and lawn care equipment. Interlocal agreements were established with other school districts for educational services. The board also addressed personnel matters including the hiring of a new police chief and a health science teacher.

The board recognized Students of the Month and a Teacher of the Month. Key actions included the approval of the Smith County Appraisal District certified tax roll, the sale of property due to delinquent taxes, the District Textbook Committee, and a proclamation regarding small district adjustment for additional school funding. The board authorized funding for December retention for district employees, approved expenditures for digital camera upgrades, an AVID college readiness contract, a middle school reading program, and parking lot re-surfacing. Additionally, the board approved an enrollment increase for Cumberland Academy, updated the academic achievement and class ranking policy, accepted a teacher resignation, and moved the time and location for the next board meeting.
