The meeting included dispensing with the reading of the previous month's minutes and granting permission for the Town Clerk to prepare and submit the Louisiana Compliance Questionnaire to the accounting firm. During an Executive Session, personnel matters were discussed, resulting in the termination of one officer and the acceptance of another officer's resignation. Departmental reports covered Police Department activities, including an update on surveillance cameras, and public works activities, noting that the water distribution site upgrade project was at 98 percent completion, alongside an update on stop sign replacement. Financial and departmental reports were accepted. General discussion covered the sidewalk project, trash and debris concerns, lighting at the Saizan Street ball field, the sign in front of Town Hall, and incorporating Highway 190 up to the caution light. A citizen also raised a concern regarding continuously barking dogs.

The Parks & Recreation Director also gave an update on youth league activities. General discussion covered the sidewalk project, consideration of live council meetings, and the danger posed by motorized scooters and bicycles on roadways. Representatives from Port Barre High School's EEA club addressed the council regarding a food drive for the needy.

The Town Council held a special meeting that included a public hearing to discuss the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2025, and ending September 30, 2026, as well as proposed amendments to the budget for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025. The council also discussed and voted on adopting Ordinance No. 1 of 2025, concerning the budget for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and Ordinance No. of 2025, concerning the budget for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. Additional discussion was held regarding an increase in consumption rates for water and sewer.
