City Of Powell River Council Regular Council Meeting
The Council adopted a new bylaw concerning municipal solid waste collection and authorized a two-year agreement for petroleum supply. Staff were directed to partner with community organizations to provide warming centers and extreme weather shelters. The Council approved the 2026 meeting schedule, established the Acting Mayor rotation for the upcoming year, and endorsed a new high-acuity medical response level for local fire services. Discussions regarding the financial planning for RCMP contract cost-sharing increases were held, and the decision on a proposed pickleball facility was postponed until February 2026.
