Belary School District Work Session
The board discussed the elementary school project, including reviewing construction history, facilities assignments, and pending decisions. Key topics included the review of bond financing options with an estimated project cost of $59 million, the proposed consolidation of elementary schools to a single campus on Crest Avenue to achieve energy savings, and the evaluation of three conceptual design options considering site constraints such as gas line easements. The board also questioned the necessity of borrowing $10 million in bank-qualified debt to cover soft costs and architectural design fees before finalizing a specific project direction.
